Of course Eypt has many taxi's, places like Sharm El Sheikh will have metered cabs. Cairo will have a mix of meters and the kind you need to negotiate the price. Recent changes in traffic laws now enforce the requirement that all taxi's have working meters, however you will still find some taxi's without.
